Bay Area Synthetic Grass recommends at a minimum a one time application of Artificial Turf Deodorizer and Durafill Infill (instead of sand infill) with our Basic Grass shown below or any synthetic grass you may choose to install yourself. This combination of Basic Grass Artificial Turf Deodorizer and Durafill Infill (instead of sand infill) is usually sufficient for clients who have one small or medium size dog. This material has a unique property that dissipates ammonia odors by use of a chemical catalytic reaction. With a one time application of ATD any yard will smell fresh and continuous mitigate urine odors. 50 lbs covers approximately 50 sq-ft.
Durafill Deodorizing Infill - $100 for 50 lbs
Durafill Infill (instead of sand infill) shields your synthetic grass from animal urine as well as other external contaminants preventing the build-up of bacterial spores within the infill itself. Durafill Infill does not degrade over time and does not require repeated applications.
Dog Run Synthetic Grass (Pet Turf) - $5 /sq-ft
Dog run and kennel synthetic grass is specially designed for high traffic and durability.
Dog run and kennel synthetic grass are characterized by high face weight, shortened pile height
augmented by increased nylon thatch. These are thick, lush, high face weight grasses designed
to hold up to high traffic and use.

Cleaning and Maintenance Tips
As every pet owner experiences, what is consumed at the front of the pet usually comes out the back; some how, somewhere. Defecation materials, spit and other biological "stuff" can be deposited by your pets on the area. Just like any surface around your site, synthetic grass and artificial turf need some regular attention to keep it clean, fresh and safe for your family, friends and customers.
Solid materials should be removed regularly. Leaving solid material waste on the surfaces to break down will increase the amount of contaminate that saturates the turf system; remove solid wastes as soon and as regularly as possible.
Treat loose stool material with care by removing with gloves and spot treating with cleaners. Irrigate the area locally. Do NOT hose solid waste away; this just spreads the waste across a larger surface area.
In dry weather, it is okay to leave solids to harden prior to removing. During wet weather, remove immediately so the solids do not break down further.
